Update on the i-nature farm model implementation in Chuc Son

Following the success of the first phase of implementing  zero-waste organic agriculture model , thanks to the technological consultancy from i-nature agriculture engineers, Cuon n Roll farm has increasingly upgraded in the productivity and quality of crops, resulting in the gradually improvement of farmers’ life.

One of the typical technologies is the use of biomass gasification stove to create biochar. Besides, farmers also get access and master other technologies such as plant trees that produce green manure, using medium -high heat thermophilic compost, etc .. According to the results of the assessment, by mixing biochar with organic fertilizers in a provisioned proportion and compost, used in land reclamation and maturation stages, crops grew steadily and resulted in 20 to 30%  higher yields compared to the  first stage.

Additionally, a number of new biological pesticide measures applied at the farm have shown a positive impact on the development of the crop. By using biological trap systems such as sweet and sour traps, yellow sticky traps, etc. along with extracted insecticide solution from ginger, gatangal, chili, garlic or oval leaves oil, the number of plant pests reduced by 20-30 %. Moreover, creating a favorable environment for the use of natural enemies and growing sesbania as the biology fence also contribute to limit the number of pests. In addition, the farm has adopted effective crop rotation, intercropping as some ways to increase soil fertility & prevent pests.

Thanks to these results, the farm has attracted the attention of the media such as Vietnam TV station, Hanoi TV station, New Rural Magazine, etc. for filming, writing & doing reportage , which cheered up the farmers. Overall, the application of organic and environment-friendly  technology solutions in the recent Cuon nRoll farm has contributed to improve product quality, create trust and change the mindset of farmers , bring them a clean, friendly and sustainable working environment.
